The EdenPark brand was founded in 1987 by rugby players (Franck Mesnel, Éric Blanc, Philippe Guillard, Yvon Rousset and Jean-Baptiste Lafond) from Racing club de France. The name comes from the New Zealand stadium where the All Blacks play, Eden Park in Auckland, where the first Rugby World Cup final was played in 1987, involving France and New Zealand. Franck Mesnel, then 27-year-old rugby world runner-up, and his teammate Eric Blanc decided to register the Eden Park brand in November 1988 and opened the first Eden Park rue de Courcelles store in Paris. Franck Mesnel became the French Champion in Racing in 1990, a year before the opening of the first franchise store in Grenoble.

The brand is present in around thirty countries. The true story of 5 rugby players who broke the established rules of amateur sport to create a unique and extraordinary adventure, full of madness and courage. Driven by a taste for paradox and attention to detail, Franck Mesnel and Eric Blanc have created a true Eden Park style whose legitimizing icon is the rugby shirt in all its versions.

The brand's hallmark: WHY A PINK TIE?
"The idea for the pink bow tie was born some time before our final, during a dinner that was a bit drenched and extremely strategic! We had to quickly find a symbol of our state of mind that would illustrate this special day of the final, the only occasion that deserved to be celebrated in the famous "number one", i.e. a tuxedo. We kept the original attribute, the bow tie, which we felt more festive when painted pink, also on behalf of our mascot, the famous panther in the same color, and our underpants worn during matches." - Franck Mesnel
